Anyone hear of this case? You’ll have to read the entire thread Haven't heard of the case, but every time there is something that is deemed a "war" the populace demands that Congress "do something" and Congress responds by increasing police powers. War on drugs brought monstrous additional police powers and resources. War on terror gave us the PATRIOT Act, which happened to be a several hundred page statute that just magically appeared right when we "needed it." There are sensitive issues at play with all of this stuff and we'll never even know half the fucking story. But odds are this particular company was a target in some sort of AML sting derived from one of the aforementioned wars and the agents in charge had no idea which boxes contained assets belonging to the target or potentially other targets. And the FBI has to be really tight lipped on this shit because they can't tip off other targets or potential targets. My guess is they have a reasonably decent answer to the question but they can't say it. And it sucks, there's almost zero chance it isn't a fourth amendment violation. The real moral of the story here is that if you need safety deposit services you should procure them from one of the banks that has essentially become an arm of the State, such as JPMorgan or Bank of America.

Not to hijack this obviously important thread involving feds and searches, but has anyone important(living near IA/Midwest, Not NC/SC/shithole SE) been following the trucker disappearance in Sac Co?

My sister was telling me about this when we were driving to Indy. Pretty unusual circumstances. I guess there were one or two other guys that had also disappeared in the same general area but maybe they’ve been found… I haven’t read any specific articles though. You thinking. Serial killer?

I helped look for him on the 30th, 1st, and 2nd... Lots of theories abound. Seemingly no connection to the man they found from Lytton though...he was found dead in car from gunshot wound, no foul play suspected(so pry suicide)..
The Schultz guy disappeared in a relatively short stretch of road, too, all things considered. The datils they released are on KCCI and/or Sac Co Sherriff FB Page.

Doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. If you have the right combination of terrain and vegetation a body can be hard to find especially when you throw in volunteers being the ones searching.

Fucking creepy. Literally drove right past that area on HWY 20 headed to Sioux Falls on Tuesday evening. Thought to myself: "surprised hunters never found any sign of that guy, wonder how long it'll be before a farmer stumbles onto something while doing fieldwork"? Got a text Wed night from a co-worker saying they found him. I'm not surprised either. The LEOs only have so many hours of manpower to commit to these type things. The search volunteers I went up to look with were just that, volunteers. They were surprisingly well organized considering it was just a husband and wife team. Luckily the local CoOp had a lady volunteering time to make calls to landowners to secure permissions, since htey have that handy Plat and customer data on hand. That helped them a ton. I think common folks get it in their heads that these searches are like just scouring the countryside inch by inch. It's fucking hard work. It was a really large area of possibility considering the known factors, too.. I thought to myself the entire time he likely ended up somewhere closer to this truck, just because my assumption was he got tangled up in something odd. But also assumed that area was combed well. If I read that right he was found like ~1 mile from the truck. To me, that's not "close".. I know it's not super far, but if I'm looking for him initially, I'm scouring the fuck out of a 1/4 mile circle first, then moving on to digest info/leads and adjusting the search to fit corridors of the leads, just like the searchers did...

A fuckin’ mile!! That is not close AT ALL. Even if you knew he was within 1 mile of his truck that would be a circle with an area of over 6 square miles. 6 square mile of ditchs, grass, creeks and what not. I shot a 12 point buck once and you could see him until you were closer than 15 yards and he was in a picked bean field with 1 strip of grass running through it.

I gotta admit I'm a little surprised that local folks in some capacity didn't hit the areas closer to the truck again at times. Like what're chances someone jumped him en route, disposed of him, and then drove and dumped the truck midway between where he originated and arrived to? He was travelling on a very busy highway. I just don't buy that he got flagged down and commandeered on US 20. I think he had a stroke or a drug reaction. Feels like disorientation lead him out to perish.
