The official list of Republicans and conservatives jumping ship, pointing fingers, or otherwise abandoning the McCain campaign 40 entries and growing • by Jed Lewison and Barath Raghavan (here are just three, go to the link to see the rest) Michelle Malkin (Mon Oct 13): Michelle Malkin expresses her disappointment in McCain after learning that "John McCain had no problem calling ACORN members his friends during his ill-fated illegal alien shamnesty crusade." She concludes, "We're Screwed '08." Ed Rollins (Mon Oct 13): Rollins, who managed Reagan's 1984 campaign: "And while chaos and disarray reigned supreme in Sen. Barack Obama's opponents' campaigns, the steady, disciplined and strategically driven Obama campaign marches forward toward likely victory." Tommy Thompson (Sat Oct 11): Former Republican Governor of Wisconsin, said it would be difficult for Mr. McCain to win in his state but not impossible, particularly if he campaigned in conservative Democratic parts of the state. Asked if he was happy with Mr. McCain's campaign, Mr. Thompson replied, "No," and he added, "I don't know who is." www.jedreport.com/shipjumpers/

The looters have been stuffing their pockets for the past seven years with stunning fury. You might recognize them, they have offices on K Street and are currently being bailed out with your money.

What's truly pathetic is the candidate who called for a change in decorum when it came to running a campaign & who was subject to the same bullshit in the 2000 GOP primary.......can't control his own fucking party for pulling this shit. In fact his VPette, condones crowd members yelling "terrorist" at her rallies. Truly pathetic to say the least. When you have no ideas to make America better, just call the other guy a terrorist. Great strategy.

Great strategy. The Republican Party, much like the Kleptocrat Party, has millions of members, many of whom exercise independent judgment. Political parties aren't the Hitler Youth, they shouldn't be subject to "control" by one person. I fear the day they are. I did not realize how close Obama was to Osama until I saw the picture that Thunderhawk posted, now I feel more able to exercise my discretion as a voter. And I actually think the strategy of calling a candidate a terrorist is a bad strategy. If you think about, that would then be saying that Dubya is letting a terrorist fly around the country, which would then make Dubya, and the Republicans by association, soft on terror. The better strategy is to call Barry soft on terror, not a terrorist. Everybody already knows liberals are soft on crime, the stretch to soft on terrorism isn't too hard to make.

A candidate should have control of the image and presentation of their campaign. My point is that McLame has gone back on everything he was for when it comes to civil campaigns after his 2000 experience. Caribou Barbie could have simply said that Obama is not a terrorist and that name-calling isn't going to advance the GOP cause. Your example of how you believe Thunder's picture shows the strategy the GOP uses to get the mentally retarded on their side. Don't talk issues or solutions, make claims that some tard in Ottumwa can understand and run with (i.e. Black man with arab name = terrorist).

More California GOP goodness: They sent this out in a newsletter. So here's the deal. If you're still a Republican, you're a fucking racist who oughta be sporting sheets and attending Klan rallies. That's what your party has become. Go burn some crosses. Or go to a Sarah Palin rally and yell death threats at Obama. Whatever floats your sinking boats.

The GOP must be stopped. We must institute a ban on certain political speech. This negative speech must end. My desire to think happy thoughts surpasses these rednecks' free speech rights. I can't believe the people of Missoura would make such a sign.

The Democrats have been discriminating the entire campaign. Age discrimination is still discrimination. Like I said before, every time I hear someone make an age joke about McCain I reply with "Ok, should I start with the black jokes now."

Moral equivalence at its best...just because 'they' do it, then its ok for 'us' to do it.
That is one of the biggest reasons I left the GOP four years ago after a lifetime membership....they got control in Washington and acted against all of their principals because 'they' did if for so long, it was 'our' turn.
Inappropriate is inappropriate.
The California GOP literature is just plain offensive and should be called as such.
If you don't like the age jokes of McCain (which, by the way, actually are rooted in something that should be relevant to the voters), then call them out rather than accepting this racist bullshit from the rednecks....who are on the verge of setting the GOP back 30+ years.

The age issue is relevant for two reasons: 1) It's commonly accepted knowledge that Reagan had Alzheimers in his second term. That's fucking scary when you've got the nuke codes. McCain is older than Reagan was when Reagan took office. 2) If McCain kicks the bucket (and the guy has had serious cancer FOUR TIMES!), that horrific idiot Palin would be in charge. Talk about the decline of an empire. I used to like McCain in spite of his personal failings. I really did. I even bought his book. He's gutted his own character. He's dancing with the devil, throwing in his lot with the same scum who defamed him in 2000. He's sad, bitter, and pathetic, a real Shakespearean tragedy, and this country is in deep shit if he gets elected. And you all know it. You KNOW that Palin is a fucking disaster waiting to happen, a cruel joke played on America by a man with an entitlement complex and a thirst for power that puts country behind ambition. You KNOW he picked her to appease the Fake Christianist wing of the GOP, which he used to rightly chastise (Goldwater, an actual conservative, said that these theocrats had no place in American politics.) You fucking KNOW it. You can claim otherwise, but you'd be lying, and we'd know that too. andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/10/a-republican-in.html
