How much if anything do you tip delivery guys? and I am not talking the Pizza guy.
My mother in law's house caught fire about six months ago and yesterday we were at her house so the delivery guys from Sears could deliver her new fridge, stove, washer, dryer, a tv, and remove her old washer and dryer from the basement.
It was pouring rain and it took them a little over two hours to get everything installed and checked.
I was thinking of giving the two guys $10 each but with all the work they did it seemed a little cheap so I gave them each $20.
What say thee? too much, not enough, fuck them that's their job?

Did your MIL have to pay a delivery fee for these to be delivered? If so that would put me in the fuck them that's their job category otherwise $20 each is about what I would have done if I didn't pay a delivery fee.
I doubt these guy's see any of the delivery fee and that's not my fucking problem, but to me this fee includes the installation of the items and not just taking them to my house.

If the pizza guy gets a tip, these guys for sure deserve one. They simply work harder, not to mention you said they had to work in the pouring rain. I'm a cheap bastard, but am a tipper (usually at least 18%, never under 15%) they probably expected about $10, I think you did well at $20 each.

I've never tipped these type of delivery guys because you are usually already paying a delivery fee.

Fuck them, I wouldn't tip for delivery of an appliance. Is it now common courtesy to tip someone every time they hold a door open for you too?
I can understand tipping the pizza delivery guy because they get paid minimum wage or close to it. The dudes who install appliances or work for the Geek Squad a Best Buy get paid a reasonable wage to do their job so I wouldn't tip them shit unless their wife was giving me a blowjob while they were installing my new Kenmore washing machine.
I used to run several tons of drywall into houses and buildings for a living for about $10 an hour in college and I sure as hell didn't ever see any tips from the general contractors or people building their houses.
Having worked in the restaraunt industry for quite a while, I am a very generous tipper at bars/restaraunts, usually at least 20%.
