So with AC coming back next year (and everyone else), the fact that we play all our tough road games at home next year, and getting Hampton back what record will you expect the Hawks to have and if they don't get there will you see the season as a disappointment?
I say 10-2 and no less then 2nd place in the BT. I could handle 9-3 but I guess it depends on how and who we lose to.
In saying that on paper next year is by far the best chance we have to win the BT that we have had under KF.

So with AC coming back next year (and everyone else) Did I miss something? I knew AC was coming back, but heard Spievey was as good as gone and Bulaga was on the fence...

Tell me this, what is the white stuff ( some of you are going to run with this one! ) in the corners of AC's mouth, I always thought it was dried saliva during games. Yesterday the local news interveiwed him about his recent NFL decision and then WHAMMY! White corners, it's like the mole on Fred Savages face, can't take my eyes off of it.
Arizona on the road next season will be tough, NW at Evanston, scUM at the big house, could be dicey . Iowa should be a good team next year, but we've been down this road b4 and I'm not getting sucked in quite yet!

Well, if we are better than 0-12, I'll be fucking shocked. And mark my words, assholes, we will lose again in Evanston.

If we win the Orange Bowl, I'd think we would be a pre season top 10 team (not that it means shit and I'd almost prefer not to be heralded going into the season).
I have a pretty good feeling Bulaga will be coming back. I know it was mostly due to injuries but I don't see where he was so good he'd be a first round pick and maybe not even second round last year.

By everyone else, I meant the team as a whole not Amari (who I think is 99% gone) or Bulaga (who I think is 50/50) Those are my %'s not theirs.

Next year will be great to be a Hawkeye. I'd say 10-2, share of the B10 or outright is what the team is fully capable of. Here is hoping they live up to the expectation.

Anything less than 10-2 next season, I will be pissed.
As for Spievey, why is he so highly regarded? Don't get me wrong, he can make the open field tackle when needed, but I don't see what he has done that is so spectacular. Then again, a DB making a real, actual TACKLE is such a rarity in the NFL anymore (see Brian Dawkins), maybe that is the skill the scouts are drooling over?
Bulaga for sure needs another year.

I'm no talent guru, but I think why you haven't heard too much about Spievey, or anything too spectacular is because QB's simply do not throw to his side (save the 70 yard pass in the PSU game). People that that can evaluate talent far better than me call him the closest thing that Iowa's had to a "lockdown corner" Iowa's had in the Ferentz era.

I'm cool with the kid making the big bucks in the League. I just don't see it, that's all. Then again, he DOES make the sure tackle... which is a rarity anymore in the NFL.

How many Iowa fans thought that Fletcher would be starting in the NFL this year? (OK so he plays for St. Louis but it's still an NFL team) CB is the hardest position for a fan to see the talent since they only usually see them if they are making a tackle or a pass is being thrown their way. Spievey is a great corner and teams not throwing at him is a pretty good indication of that. If he leaves and runs a 40 in the 4.4's he is going to make a ton of money because he is a good cover guy and isn't afraid to support the run when needed. That is something that you don't see out of some good cover guys.

Man, I want to see them in the Rose Bowl and I think anything less than 10-2 is a disappointment. It takes so many breaks to get through a season with 10 wins or more.
Oh, and we will still have KK (no "O") calling the plays.

If you're so good that teams refuse to throw to your side of the field, and you pick them off with spectacular interceptions when they do, you can bet your ass the NFL will come knocking, and knocking hard.
You never hear the names of the best cornerbacks unless the opponent is too stupid to throw their way.

Wouldn't they by definition, be tough home games? Sorry, had to do it.
