Yet another HD vehicle, off the road, being torn down and worked on...that's typical! ;D

Modded

It is kind of interesting that almost all HD vehicles need to be "modded" before their owners consider them worthy to drive. You would think that for as much as they charge for outdated technology, they would at least be good enough to drive right off the lot, wouldn't ya?

OK, for one, that truck is not made by Harley-Davidson - duh.
As for modifying motorcycles, almost everybody does it, regardless of what bike it is. If they don't do it right away, they do it when they can, be it paint, engine mods or accessories. How much extra do you have in your Gold Wing, Seth? My dresser has about $3500-$4000 extra in it. You can't count my Springer as that is pretty much a total custom.

Spank,
What's the gas mileage on that beast like 1/2 mile a gallon?

It's actually a GMC C4500, I believe. Those things can get around 6 or 7 MPG. Those trucks are pretty cool. I like the style.

I saved $5k on the initial purchase price and put that right back into/onto the wing within the next 24 months....chrome, bigger windshield, satelite radio, lights, driving lights, radar detector, better speakers, amplifier, etc. However, ZERO money was put into the engine...it's a beast as it is...125HP...HD folks usually put on chrome, quickly followed by engine hop-ups....right Bluz?

Most don't do "hop ups" as much as exhaust, Stage I and a tune (let it breath) to basically fix what the EPA requires of an air-cooled V-Twin to pass emissions standards. I do not even begin to claim that the standard V-Twin keeps up with the Wing - not without major modification. However, we are talking about an engine design that dates back almost 80 years - you either like that or you don't. Now, the liquid-cooled V-Rod motor is another story entirely (ask the NHRA boys). That is the bike I am waiting for Harley to make - a big bagger like my Ultra with the V-Rod motor and a fat rear tire.

The funniest motorcycle shirt I've seen (worn by the motorcycle driver)...
"If you can read this, the bitch fell off."
It was seen just outside of Sturgis, of course.

The female version says, "If you can read this, the bitch just passed you."
