You finished 17.5 games back and missed the fucking playoffs. Your team is old, full of holes, and being good 10 years ago isn't going to help with shit. So does a history of titles somehow make you a better team next year? Will Illinois football be good next year bince they won a bunch of titles? 10 years ago? I think you are just trolling now. They won the division the last 4 years in a row except last year. They also won the WS in 2011. We are not talking ancient history here palso. Lance Berkman and Albert Pujols aren't walking through that door pal. You know what else isn't ancient history? Your #1 starter would be the Cubs #4 starter.

Stop it Your team had a season ERA of 4.8, which was middle of the pack for the NL. You failed to add a significant arm in the offseason, Wainwright is washed up at age 35, you're paying shitty Mike Leake $15 million, and Lance Lynn pushing 30 and recovering from arm surgery. But lights out signing with Fowler though. I am sure he'll hit just as well without #1 and #4 in MVP voting batting 2 & 3 behind him.

Nothing I can do about it, I personally don't get to decide who they sign or dont. Fowler was a good signing.

No no no...no no. Fowler ain't no Brock. Nobody will be. But the 'trade' between st. louis and Chicago is about the same. St. Louis helped themselves. Chicago did not. Heyward wasn't even starting as I recall late into the season, and I think in the series? Talk about getting bent over. WTF are you talking about? Fowler hasn't seen a pitch in a Cards uniform yet they helped themselves? Says who? And last time I checked Heyward was in the first year of his deal and they won a fucking WS you moron. Heyward was a starter on the 2016 Cubs that won the WS for the first time in 108 years. Do you really think 10,20,50 years from now people are going to give two shits that he was in a season long slump at the plate? Sure if he had an error in the bottom of the 10th that allowed the Indians to win you might have a point but not a single Cub fan gives two shits about him looking lost at the plate. WS TITLE = MISSION ACCOMPLISHED It was also 1 fucking year, as I said if Fowler hits .350 and the Cards win a WS in the next few years it will have been a great FA pickup for the Cards. As for Heyward he could never hit over .220 the rest of his time in Chicago and he will still be part of the team that won a WS title on the North Side. For some reason you can't seem to understand that. Also, why would I give a shit how much his contract is for, it isn't my money? You're getting it now! Cubs won a WS title in spite of a shitty/expensive/stick-it-to-St. Louis acquisition. And for cripe's sake....of COURSE he was a starter. One hundred and whatever MILLION dollar contract is going to make him a starter. (at least until the end of the year).

When did you become a Nebraska fan? History of winning...Ha! Unless history is going to patch up your shit starting rotation, have fun battling Pittsburgh for a 2nd wild card the next 5 years. OMFG, won 1 title and acts like this is old hat for the Cubbies. jfc william. f Pppfttt....card fans. Won one more title than the Twins in the last 40 years, and act like world beaters. card fans = Debby fans = clowns

Stick it to St. Louis acquisition? Lol! This was clearly the only reason why the Cubs offered him a contract and why he took less money then what the Cards were offering to come to Chicago............

Yeah, they were cool with Chris Coghlan being an everyday right fielder. They just signed Hayward out of spite.
