Well, okay. TECHNICALLY, the movie ended. But not REALLY. Sorry, but I just hate shit like that. Give me an ending. Not too much to ask for my $, IMO. I pay to be entertained, not to come up with an ending on my own. If I wanted to do that, I'd go into writing screenplays and save my $8.50 a pop. That is like telling Picasso that all of his paitings should look like something. Like I said, if you need the ending spelled out for you, you can watch Delta Farce. Do you really get pissed off at a film maker if he demands that you pay attention and think while watching a movie? That kind of bums me out...

IF I were to go to an art museum (don't hold your breath), I wouldn't be EXPECTING the paintings to look like anything. When I go to a movie, I kinda expect a definitive ending. I know... I'm funny like that. 'No Country' is the "movie that could have been". Alas... it wasn't. I don't mind having to think during a movie. Just not at the ending. I want the film maker to decide how it ends. To me... the latest "craze" amongst film makers of not having a definitive ending is laziness concealed as being "artsy fartsy". I don't care if the ending is a happy ending, sad ending, or something in between. Just give me something concrete for my time and money spent on the product.

If you didn't get the ending to No Country for Old Men, you weren't paying attention to the movie. Watch it again. Stellar flick.

As for a movie with a messed up ending, look no further than Mullholland Drive. What a frickin twisted ending. Awesome, awesome movie. It will fuck with your mind until you watch it over and over again and finally get it.

I wasn't really paying attention because I fell asleep and had to watch the ending the next day. By then, I only half-cared, so that probably explains much of my distaste. However, the wife stayed awake for the whole thing and also felt that the "ending" sucked. I stand by my opinion that it is one of the most over-rated films of all time.

I stand by my opinion that it is one of the most over-rated films of all time. Not nearly as overrated as The Lord of The Rings trilogy. I hadn't been so bored at the theater since Attack of the Clones. We all have our opinions. I know some think LOTR was great. For me, No Country was thrilling all the way to the end. But I have every Coen brothers movie on DVD, I like most of their movies. And even the ones I don't particularly like, I still appreciate their style. If you like their movies and you haven't seen Miller's Crossing then go see it ASAP. As far as mob movies go, this one is up there with The Godfather IMO. The story has a lot of twists and turns and the dialog and acting is top-notch.

Bored at Attack of the Clones? I saw that 10 times in the theatre when it came out.
Maybe I shouldn't broadcast that....
