If I worked for the FTC, I'd block the deal. If Wendy's has access to the Big Montana, Arby's curly fries and the Jamocha shake recipe, they will monopolize the entire food business.
Main course - Big Montana or Double Bacon w/ cheese
Side #1 - Spicy Chicken Sammich
Side #2 - Large Curly Fry
Small Diet Coke (watching waist line)
Large Frosty with a little squirt of jamocha shake on top to wake me from my food coma.
I dare you to find a better meal from a fast food restaurant.
More importantly, a question that I have had more than one time on the job: If you take two moist, freshly laid, turds, squish them together and then try to polish them for a nice shine, do you have a good business or one big turd and a dirty buffer?

Query which cheese you would want on those - that nacho cheese they have at Arby's or the regular cheese from Wendy's.

Regular cheese. The Nacho cheese is reserved only for roast beef sammiches and stadium nachos.

This will be huge if they actually merge the restaurants. Imagine how the quality of life would change if you could order an Italian Toasted Sub and a Baked Potato with cheese and sour cream at one drive-thru window.  This is freaky fast food heaven. The first time I went to Arby's was probably a year ago to get the roast beef for the kids and I ordered the sub as well. It was very good. The kids like Wendy's chicken sandwiches. I stick with the potato's and sometimes chili. I'm surprised it wasn't Wendy's buying out Arby's though just based on my limited knowledge of the fast food industry. For budgetary reasons I choose to subscribe to the Waterloo Courier instead of the Wall Street Journal. Proud Iowa farm girl right here!  The Wendy's stockholders must be giddy over this.  OK I'm that that smart. Who are the screwed shareholders here? It seems like Arby's buying out Wendy's is kind of like the Giant's over the Pat's. It makes no sense but I like it. |

I can't remember ever eating at an Arby's on purpose. I eat fast food, maybe one a month.
But then again, I am 160lbs, in great shape, and get tons of looks from the ladies.
