Don't ask don't care is pretty much an SEC motto, but still rings true for Norf Cackalacky schools too.

Successful coaches like Roy, Petino, and Callipari make a living off plausible deniability. They stay as far away as the academic side as possible, they dont want to know what classes they are taking or how they are doing.

My son, who gradgitated from UNC 10 years ago, knew this stuff was going on back then. Everybody on campus knew. Hard to believe Roy Boy didn't know about it or become aware of it when or shortly after he got to Chapel Hill. Of course he knew. Dean knew also, as did every football coach over the last 20 years. But none are directly involved. All have plausible denial. The only thing these guys know on the record is if player xxx is eligible or ineligible. Now roy may very well go down but it will only be because UNC takes academics so seriously, and like Calipari he skates wif the NCAA.

False. You know they're out to get Iowa State. Illinois too. The NCAA HATES Illinois, and has been after them for 30 years.

A grand total on NOTHING is going to come out of this, there will be unimportant nobody made a scapegoat for this disaster and it will be swept under the rug as past history.
Any head coach associated with this should get whacked, athletic counselors, deans, directors etc.
Can you imagine at what would happen to Illinois? There would be so many death penalties handed out CU would look like death row @ stateville.
...
Pull down the banner and award the title to the rightful 2005 NCAA basketball champion. Hit the cheaters where it really hurts. Lack of institutional control and massive forfeits at a minimum.
...
Give 'em the death penalty. But of course harsh penalties are set aside for schools like Illinois and select others.
...
Nothing to see here.
Move along.
HEY!!!! LOOK OVER THERE!!!! IS THAT A NATIVE AMERICAN MASCOT!!!!!!!!!!

Iowa is one whistleblower away from teh Tar Heels. Almost every school is. That's why the cacophony on this matter is pretty much just coming from the media. It ain't liek Sandusky where the other schools can rest assured that they have no similar problem and then go on the offensive. Ain't no one want to throw stones here because they are all in glass houses. Hell, if the NCAA wanted to do something for student athletes, they'd bring back the freshman ineligibility rule in men's basketball or perhaps some derivative of it (as a tool to kick out one and done guys) and then in football they'd concoct a test similar to the ACT that every athlete has to take after sophomore year in order to requalify to continue playing. You don't show improvement, sayonara. We'll kick out the mega athletes and redirect academic resources to kids who actually belong in college.

Because most businesses are looking to get rid of their most profitable employees. Let's say you own a business, hypothetically it's a business that tells colored glass pellets to mix into clear glass to color it. Now let's say you have a top salesman, who really brings in the bacon, however, outside of his sales calls, he's a terrible employee. An asshole to the other employees, wastes all of his time on the computer, questionable expense account items. What do you do with this guy? Do you can his ass? Hell no, you pay him moar so no one else does.

Iowa is one whistleblower away from teh Tar Heels. Any coach or AD will tell you the last thing you want is the NCAA poking around your office as they are bound to find something that is a violation. That said what happened at PSU, UNC, SMU, and no doubt today in the SEC is much worse than what happens at Iowa or some other middle of the road school. Sure players might get a passing grade on a test or have extra help from a student adviser, but basically getting an A or high B for a class in which they did no work that in many cases kept multiple people eligible and even raised their GPA enough to graduate doesn't happen at every school. Iowa isn't the SEC where players are getting grades and degrees that they didn't do dick to deserve, I can guarantee that is happening down south. Cowherd said on the radio a couple of weeks ago that he talked to a couple of BCS conference football coaches and they supposedly told him that out of a 25 man recruiting class maybe only 1 or 2 would have got into school if they didn't play football. Sorry that is some BS unless he was talking to only SEC head coaches (or Stanford and ND). Could all Iowa football players get into Iowa without football? Hell no but I would guess closer to half if not more would. As for paying players and $100 handshakes that's a different deal as well. That happens everywhere but I also can guarantee that what players are getting at Bama, Auburn, Florida, FSU, etc. is a hell of a lot more than they are getting at Iowa or Minnesota. And of course the media are total fucking hypocrites as all they do is talk about the schools that don't give a shit about the students but are successful on the field/court but a 25-50 program that are actually giving their players the opportunity to earn an education and better themselves get fucking laughed at because they aren't winning more games.

True. I also don't think the NCAA will severely punish anyone either, bince the golden goose is too fat. Penn State institutionally covered up the rape of children for 15 years, and they got a two year fucking bowl ban. You think UNC is going to be destroyed for some academic shit?

The sad part she is only 42 and looks 62. Well it looks like a candid night time shot. No one looks good (in real life) after getting down. For instance, 25 year old Katy Perry looks like this: Instead of this: Wait, why am I whiote knighting teh pr0n star? Oh right, because mebbe she bone me!
