If those dogooder water protectors hadn't slowed things down so much, the pipe fitters would have had time to actually weld the pipe together properly.

Those Nebraska landowners are not gonna be an easy lot to steamroll. I look forward to the GOP going full metal eminent domain on behalf of a foreign corporation agin a bunch of Republican ranchers.

I was down to Darlington on Saturday and as soon as I heard the line was down went to QT to load up on gas when I got home. It's up 15 centavos bince Saturday night. I really hope they get that sumnabitch back up soon because I've got a lot of oil stocks and while they're up today, if we can't get refined products to market in the southeast and up the MidAtlantic states up to NYC, I'm a little worried about what that might do to Valero and Exxon. I suspect the biggest risk is if they can't get jet fuel to Atlanta airport. The last time the Atlanta airport went down due to a Delta computer outage it completely fucked air travel for liek 2 weeks. This could be a helluva boon for the oil companies and airlines.

There are only at best 2 presidents who know how to run a computer thingy and I don't think Obama or Clinton would have assisted in such an endeavor. I like the blaming it on Obama angle, though. I'll float it on some sites and let you know if it gets traction.

Totally agreed, this is just like the run on water before a hurricane. The terminals on the line have plenty of refined product. Now, if it stays down for a few weeks, we'll be in problem territory but right now this is just front end hoarding. Hopefully, this can ease people into getting used to higher gas prices so the upstream prices can budge upward and the crack spreads widen. I want to get some more mileage out of that Valero and Exxon stock.

How is she going to get it from tote into her car?

How is she going to get it from tote into her car? I wish we still had a plasix expert here. I'd bet that if she leaves that gas in the tote for more than 3 days, the tote will have weakened enough on the edges that there won't be any gas left in it. And clearly she looks like a physicist so I'm sure she will understand the importance of properly venting a gas container and wouldn't just seal it all up tight. The tight seal would exacerbate pressure on the tote and speed up the emptying process, not to mention even assuming the tote maintained its integrity opening a tote that was tightly sealed for a few days would be dangerous as fuck. This is the kind of moron who wins a $2.5 million jury verdict when she stores that sumnabitch right next to her water heater in her garage and turns into Freddie Krueger when she pulls the lid off. "THE TOTE DIDN'T EXPRESSLY SAY NOT TO STORE GAS IN IT AND THE WARNING ON THE LABEL NEEDED TO BE ON THE TOTE ITSELF IN 78 POINT FONT AND IN SPANISH."

The tote is polyethelene, same as your red plastic gas can. As for the rest of your comment, you are spot on.

That kind of ruins my day.
