Good fucking god. I’d rather have JimBob live next to me with his Trans Am up on blocks in the front yard than belong to an HOA. My aunt lives in California as well. When I visited her when we went to the Rose Bowl she was telling me about all the crazy assed people she deals with for the HOA. She’s on the association. One of the most ridiculous things is that they can regulate the color of drapes you have. They have to be white or a light beige. No color can show through the drapes. So even if they have. A white backing, if you turn on your lamp at night they better not show up as red! My place in Evanston had a rule that everyone had to have the same vertical blinds. It made sense to keep a uniform look for the building, but if you aren't in a highrise, any window covering rule other than saying "don't hang sheets in your windows" is pretty fucking stupid. And yeah, you might be fine with a Trans Am on blocks in its front yard, but where I live a third of the people buying houses are black and there are some issues with people flying the stars and bars so our HOA has a rule that you can only fly old glory, the SC flag and a college team flag only on the day they play. If you don't put flag restrictions in place, you might get someone flying the stars and bars, which can dramatically impair the value of your house if Yankees or blacks are looking to buy. My aunt and uncle have a million dollar house on a lake near me and my aunt said "despite all the bullshit, you absolutely have to be in a HOA in the south because neither the city nor county will do anything about blighted property and it's a lot harder to sell a house if a bunch of your neighbors are flying confederate flags than it would be to otherwise sell it so just deal with that bullshit because it is better than the alternative." The area where I live was dairy farms 20 years ago and there is one house a quarter mile from me that was cut out from a farm decades ago. The guy has like 6 boats, a dozen broken down cars and a bunch of washers and dryers and shit out front. The area is growing super fast but we are in the unincorporated county and there was talk about condemning the house to improve an intersection, but the guy refuses to sell and after a SCOTUS case in 2005 the state constitution changed and the hurdle to condemn it is really high. The county is basically fucked. You see, in a place like Iowa or Minnesota they would incorporate the area and that guy would get condemned, but if you have state law that protects land rights, you can't really do shit to a guy like that so you really need HOAs. I mean, yeah HOAs are fucking whack, but my mom had a cock drawn in her newly poured sidewalk and the city is up in her shit trying to steamroll and threatening her with them doing the work for an unknown price plus a 45% surcharge. So relying on either the government or HOA to maintain an area has its pluses and minuses.

It's even dumber than you think. There's no tire tracks in the snow which means that snow wasn't even there when they left. Conclusive evidence that they idled their vehicle in contravention of the HOA rules. The idling of the vehicle warmed the asphalt, which then melted the snow, thereby causing the phallic imprint. "Oh, hey, OK4P, that's foolishness, no HOA would fine someone for idling a vehicle." Wrong. I was fined for that when I moved into my place in Evanston. Contractor was observed with his vehicle idling at two times, seven minutes apart. Oh please partner tell me more about the woes of the contracts you've signed and the perils of litigious assholes. Et tu Brute?

Lawyers, given that one of the Americans killed in the Ethiopian airlines crash was Ralph Nader's grand-niece, how many 4-hour-erection ER visits will be made by lawyers suing Boeing?

Lawyers, given that one of the Americans killed in the Ethiopian airlines crash was Ralph Nader's grand-niece, how many 4-hour-erection ER visits will be made by lawyers suing Boeing? The decision to domicile the HQ in Chicago will prove interesting because it will unmistakably subject Boeing to the Crook County jury pool for any claims that can be brought in the US. They should be able to get removal to federal courts and the 7th Circuit as the appellate court, which will help immensely. Given how quickly the first suits have been filed and how long an actual investigation will take, the defense attorneys stand to do fairly well in these. The plaintiff lawyers will get a third of a juicy settlement, but someone from Kirkland or Sidley is gonna milk this fucker for at least $20 million on the defense side and know for certain they are gonna get paid.

Look, I ain't a Ferentz jock eater like SoCal and Thunder, but if I was barred in Iowa, I'd represent the guy pro bono just to fuck this HOA. How fucking long have they been suing him for? Look, retards, you either have a valid HOA at the time the guy moves in or your don't. There is no "agreement to join an HOA" - you either fucking have valid covenants running with the land or you don't. The fact that he'll pay legal fees to toy with these assholes genuinely makes me like him more. I mean, he could just pay a few grand to pave the driveway, but getting your neighbor going full cuck on the record is worth more than the legal fees. "I'm worried that guests of Kurt are going to run over my kids" is some pretty fucking Busch League level bitching. At the end of the day, a new neighbor moves in, you gauge what they are in to. As long as their name doesn't end in "berg" or "stein" you invite them over for some pulled pork you smoked yourself and you'll have a friend for life. And if it does end in "berg" or "stein" then you invite them over for brisket. This shit isn't rocket surgery, people. I live in unincorporated Greenville County. Tell me - if Dabo moved in next to me and I was like "hey Dabo, let's crush brews and smoke some meat" or if I was like "hey Dabo, I'm some jackoff doctor who hates football because I'm a bitch and oh by the way you owe me 9 grand for the fucking driveway" which one do you think Dabo is gonna make life easy on? If you have to go fucking litigate a case either in Eastern Iowa or Upstate Cackalack - do you think you have a fucking chance against the ball coach coming off a big win against Bama (or in Iowa's case, an Outback Bowl win)? No. Absolutely no. IIRC from the previous article the neighbors really dont like Mary. I'd imagine wif all the time KF spends on fooseball Mary is the CEO of teh Ferrets Family Farmstead Inc. Also the Ferrets big reason for not wanting the road paved and putting up the landscape trees was for privacy. They said paving the road would increase "gawker" drive buys. Mega props though to the Ferrets for putting up the orange plastic snow fence as a big fuck you to the neighbors.
