Thought I had it, was out all week from work. Got tests results back and it was negative. Embarrassed to say I got my ass kicked by the regular old flu. It's like, it didn't even count enough to get me the free covid days off.

Just checking in. Still no Covid.
At Easter my oldest daughter, husband and kids showed up. After about 10 minutes I noticed her husband coughing and blowing his nose and she came in to talk to me and was very hoarse. I asked “are you guys sick?” She quickly snapped back that it wasn’t Covid because they were tested. ( well who the hell wants a fucking cold either?) 3 days later my husband got sick with their cold. He was pretty miserable as colds make you. I thought I was going to sneak by without it but then a week later it hit me. We were both PCR tested and did not have flu or Covid. I got over it fairly quickly…about a week.

Still no Covid for me or my family. Half the fucking kids in my neighborhood have it right now as do two of my neighbors (as far as I know).

On Covid watch.
Picked up my granddaughter Saturday to go to a greenhouse and plant flowers. As her dad brought her car seat to the car she sounded like she had a cold. Neither my SIL or daughter mentioned it. I asked her if she had a cold and she said yep.
My daughter just called to say she tested her at home and it was positive. So….I’m thrilled. She spent the entire day at our house.

Went out with friends (3 families) for lunch and beers at Big Grove. Next day one of the Moms texts us that her daughter just tested positive and …..oh yeah she’s been sick for days hadn’t been tested but just didn’t want to miss the fun. My wife got this text on the way to the hospital where her mom and sister were after a near fatal car accident. She just had to turn around and go home.

Yes this is the same daughter that came over sick at Easter. She’s very upset that she exposed us but now upset that her 4 year old will miss the last few days of preschool and that her anniversary is this weekend and now they can’t go out. She’s also pregnant. About 18 weeks. My husband was diagnosed with two kinds of cancer this year. A blood cancer which he can live for a long time as long as they control his platelets and the other is a rare type of lymphoma. The doctor said that won’t probably kill him because he’s 66 and will take 20 years to get him and he’ll probably die of something else before that. They can treat him with a some chemo that would shrink his mass down to nothing and put him in remission for years but because Covid is around they won’t give it. It totally knocks down your immune system and he has a greater chance of dying sooner with Covid. They said they could wait three years before they treat. Hopefully by then this shit will be gone.

Both cancers were caught incidentally from some other testing. He just retired from work.

He's in the double comorbidity club now, maybe triple. I'd be extra fucking careful. That lymphoma shit is prolly no big deal and they can wait on it. I'd quit drinking and get on a really clean diet if I was him as well.

He pretty much eats clean because at this point he can only tolerate very low fat foods. He mostly eats chicken, fish, yogurt, cereal, fruits vegetables…I won’t deny him his occasional shots of whiskey.

Seems odd we didn’t get Covid when my son, who lives at home, had it. But little kids can be bigger germ spreaders than grown ups so we shall see.

They are out of the hospital but not receiving adequate care. I think the sister in law will be okay but I am worried about my mother in law. She has 3 broken ribs, a broken spinal process, a concussion, and so much BFT that she now has significant blood pooling and edema everywhere fluids can settle to. They only prescribed them about 18 hours of pain meds, I told them to send their husbands to a fucking dispensary and use that to manage pain if their doctors won't help but they won't touch marijuana even though its perfectly legal in Illinois. They both have some form of PTSD as they are having manic cycles and are continually reliving the accident then breaking down sobbing. My wife does have some symptoms but is testing negative. Those antigen tests are about fucking useless as you won't test positive until you are plenty ill enough to know you have Covid. I do not fucking understand people. If you are sick, whether it's Covid or something else, fucking stay home. Have some compassion for other people. What may just be a cold to you is going to cause my son with respiratory issues or Ginger's husband or OK4P's MIL a life threatening illness. I fucking hate people.

Yeah the home tests are pretty worthless unless you are actively having lots of symptoms for a few days. I agree about the sick people. It’s amazing that after all that’s gone on how many health care workers will show up to work with symptoms and tell me Its “just a cold” when you ask and the answer is no when you asked if they’ve tested. The new variants of Covid have hit Minnesota and are spreading rapidly and testing centers are seeing more positives. Think how many people are testing at home and not reporting or not testing at all. You know the cases are higher than what’s being reported. I don’t know what medical care is like in illinois. I suspect it depends on where you are. I hope you encourage them to go back in if they’re having issues. Is you MIL on Medicare? Surprised they would let her leave so soon with those kind of problems since if she goes back and has to be admitted I believe the hospital eats that entire stay.

I fucked my right knee up on Palm Sunday 2017. Had it operated on but it is still fucked. Went to a camp a few weeks ago and must have hiked 10 miles one day with a metric fuckton of stairs. Now my good knee is fucked, definitely something off with the meniscus. I routinely bashed the good knee on hikes to make up for the bad knee and it ain't happy.
