Wimmen's spoarts > Men's. I've always felt that way Whatever happened to that womens football league where they played in skimpy clothes, pads, and helmets?

I'd rather watch the Iowa women play basketball than the Iowa men, and yeah I'd definitely watch those gals before I watched those deformed-eared little psycho dudes grab each other's nutsacks. If Iowa women had a football team it'd probably better than the current one too, aside from our secondary and that Higgins kid.

How long before the wrestling tradition of inserting objects into the body orifices of teammates commences?

How long before the wrestling tradition of inserting objects into the body orifices of teammates commences? Are the new women’s teams exempt from this practice? Asking for a friend….

Not sure if I posted this already, so sorry if I did, but I took my boy to the Y the Saturday before x-mas to push the sled, do box jumps, planks, pullups, etc. and ran into one of the rasslin' dads from our team there. His daughter is now in 7th grade so she aged out of the team and is rasslin' with the middle school girls team. I had told the dude and his daughter last year that Iowa was starting a woman's team and that it was gonna start an avalanche of women's programs starting and they were both like "yeah, sure, okay, whatever."
So the dad recognizes me and my boy at the Y and comes up and first thing he says is "dude, that Iowa women's wrestling team is the focal point of my daughter's life. She wears an Iowa women's wrestling shirt everywhere and I've been to three girls meets and at least 3/4ths of the girls at them are now wearing Iowa stuff. They all want to go there and we had to get some streaming thing just to get the Iowa women's meets."
I recently watched a documentary called Bama Rush about the sorority system at Alabama and I don't have a daughter so I don't really give a flying fuck, but if I did have a daughter I would much rather have her aspire to wrestle at Iowa than get into a southern sorority. Dare I say it, but I'm actually damned proud of Iowa for starting this and optimistic that (a) we will be perpetually good at it and (b) it will grow rapidly as Big Ten media money flows in.

That’s pretty cool. I know a several years ago there seemed to be a lot of angst, I think on that “other board” about girls and women wrestling and I’ve been surprised at how attitudes have changed. In general I’m not a big wrestling fan overall but give a lot of credit to girls and women fighting the status quo, especially in sports. And I always support the Hawks. I’ve never really understood the purpose of sororities or fraternities. They just seem like a way for rich people to stick together to feel superior. Apologize if you all are members and I’ve got that wrong. I don’t see the advantage. My sister joined one at Iowa and that’s all she talked about and acted like she was better for having been accepted. But she always had a greater need to be noticed or popular and that’s never been my thing.

As soon as you take away the inherited bias of non-wrestlers seeing male wrestlers in odd... close positions and directly transplanting their closeted feelings towards women ...then realizing they already watch women in much more compromising positions ...then seeing it has zero to do with sex and is entirely about sport. ...all takes time, but appears to be underway.
