There have been some doosies out there, when I worked at Hy-Vee, we had a swivel stand full of them. I would read them and then realize that someone had to be dumb enough to think they were witty. And that made me sad about the state of our society. Here's the latest one making its rounds up here. No disrespect to our armed forces, but WTF?!

I am retired Military. but I take no offense whatsoever to this bumper sticker. It always has been and always will be the truth. It is no different than a neighborhood crime watch group monitoring their own neighborhoods to assist the police. Neither the Military nor the Police can be everywhere all the time. Private citizens have always played a vital role when they have been willing to do so. Terrorists are no different than common criminals in that they are both like electricity.....they will always take the shortest route from points A to Z.......if they know that targets B, C and D are all armed, they will bypass them to get to target E, who is unarmed. It just makes sense. What problem do you have with this Spank?

I can just see 40 year old overweight men carrying AK47s defending the country against the Taliban.

I think what he means is that if the Taliban attacks us, are you going to let the old man defend or are you going to pick up a gun and shoot back.

The "liberals" will get together in a room somewhere and have a two day argument over how big the white flag should be. Then, after deciding on its size, they would craft some regulation making it impossible to manufacture the flag in the US, at which point they'd have to order it from China. Then, when it came, they'd argue for another two days as to the optimal place to put the flag so the Taliban could see the unconditional sign of surrender.

Umm... it'll never get to that point because we have great men like Master Chief out there defending our country. That's what makes the bumper sticker so ludacris.

Yes. It's this type of shit I am talking about. Who the hell buys that thinking it's a cool thing to put on the bumper of their vehicle? I don't get it. It's like the people that have W in 04 still on their car or Vote for Kerry. Dumbasses.

As a retired Military man myself, you are absolutely right about Master Chief, but like I said above, the Military and the Police can't be everywhere at all times (see 9/11). I am pretty sure Master Chief will retire one day and when that happens, he will still be picking up his privately owned weapons and defending himself when needed. By the way, now that Barry has nominated Leon Panetta to head the CIA, this topic has just become much more important. Look for all interrogation and covert tactics to be thrown by the wayside in favor of "Pretty please with cherries on top" and "gentle tickling" to gather information. Say what you like about GW, and I have more than my fair share of GW criticism, the man has kept this Country safe for the duration of his presidency. I don't see that continuing under Barry. What are you going to say when there is another attack on U.S. soil inside of two years?

This is regardless of who the president is and whatever policies their administration enacts. You will never be able to stop evil people from doing evil things. The only thing Bush did was ride a tide of fear to two terms in office. He used that fear as a tool to push his own agenda, which was a war with Iraq. A war, ironically, that had nothing to do with the 911 attacks and will ultimately do nothing to make our country any safer.

At what point in your paranoid/deluded future does the Taliban plan on creating an invasion force for the mainland US? Gotta have an enemy to justify your paranoia. Heck, even the USSR (people with much MUCH greater capability & reason) didn't invade us. ...Go home and jerk off to your copy of Red Dawn. Those same leaders you adore told people to arm themselves with Duct Tape and plastic sheeting (which coincidentally?!? got that speaker a quid pro quo spot on Home Depot's board) PS - I loved the "the man has kept this Country safe for the duration of his presidency"... except for 9/11 & post 9/11 Anthrax letters & the color coded alert system & the economy & oil & ...... Especially when the man hasn't done jack shit.

Do we have to go through the list of Dems that voted for the war with Iraq again? you are right you can't stop evil but you can limit them from carrying out evil acts. Now don't get me wrong I think Bush is an idiot for a lot of the things he did while in office and for not being a true conservative but that's a another topic. As for having to fight the Taliban on US soil like SoCal said not going to happen. Great movie, caught parts of it when it was on Encore over the holiday Wolverines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Especially when the man hasn't done jack shit. Yeah yeah yeah....we are idiots. Forget the Taliban! Whether it is the Taliban or another terrorist group....or groups......it isn't hardly far fetched that terrorists will make their attempts to wreak havoc in our Country. Who really doesn't believe that the United States is at the top of every terrorist priority list in the world? I have no doubt that we are the #1 target. You should have no doubt either. The Military is the first line of defense. At some point, unarmed American citizens will be damn happy that armed American citizens exist.

By the way SoCal......you kind of incinuated 9/11 happened on the GW watch. A little misdirection there, isn't it? Let me know if any of us need to take you back to the gutting of CIA opporatives and tactics during the Clinton years and the golden opportunities to kill or capture Osama Bin Laden that the Clinton administration passed on. It was GW that was in the position of having to beef up the CIA, the FBI and the Military after Clinton decimated them.
