Back to the gators... Why the FUCK does that lagoon have a beach?!!? Attractive nuisance much? Cause all the proles don't know that they are in the middle of Florida swamp land and hours from the actual ocean/beach. Being proles, they also think beach = splash around in the water, no swimming signs notwithstanding. That beach will be kaput within a month. Book it. That or huge flashing neon STAY OUT OF THE WATER THAR BE GATORS HERE!!! signs. My money is on closed beach.

The lake will be surrounded by a wonderful high wall just as I said a few pages ago.

While everybody knows Florida has gators and we've seen the pics of them on front steps and in pools, I don't think your average family from Nebraska expected their Disney vacation of a life time to end with a gator eating their 2 year old. They might have gotten a few mosquito bites up north by a crappy dirty lagoon...but that it.

If Disney legal counsel isn't advising Disney to get out the checkbook and get ready to use a lot of zeros, they aren't doing their job. Because Disney will get skullfucked in a lawsuit, and it'll cost them several times over what they end up paying this family.

Trust me, they basically pay out millions upon millions every year just to make shit go away. It's easier to just pay the dumb fuck that tripped over a curb than drag out a lawsuit. This will be no different. Check will be much bigger than the average incident pays out, but in the end they will settle, and probably quickly.

They couldn't afford the PR nightmare of duking it out with this family. Plus they'd end up losing the case anyway.

How much do white prole 2 year olds go for these days? What is Disney on the hook for? Will they be able to get 1%-10, Net-90 terms? These people are hardly proles, so it's gonna cost quite a bit moar. Elkhorn is the wealthy western edge of teh Omaha metro. We're talking homes at $500K minimum where these people live. If a shiftless ghetto The author of this is a worthless piece of shit liek Freddy Gray goes for 6 mil, I'd say a cherub-cheeked upper middle class 2 year old drowned by a fucking alligator in view of his horrified family is worth, I dunno...20 Mil?

Sealed settlement goes without saying. No admission of wrong doing of course. I think the "no admission of wrongdoing" horse busted way the fuck outta the barn already. If they have any sense they oughta show sincere contrition, admit they fucked up, learnt from it, value their guests safety above all else and will bust their balls to prevent it ever happening again. At least they'd buy some goodwill for the millions they're gonna pay out instead of looking like sniveling corporate hacks. "No admission of wrongdoing" is exactly the wrong play here. They're just fucked and oughta man up. www.thewrap.com/gator-attack-disney-knew-of-problems-staffer-asked-for-fence-at-lagoon-exclusive/

Hosed is an overstatement. That's why these places have massive insurance policies. Not the first time somebody has died at Disney theme parks. Over the years there have been several who died on rides. Some due to Disney negligence, some due to rider negligence. I think about 8 years ago some old woman went on Mission Space at Epcot and died because the G forces were too intense. That's when they made two versions of the ride. One for healthy people and the dumbed down one for those who have heart issues and such. Anyway, they're used to paying out for shit like this. Family will get a big check, gator signs will be erected (erect...) and life will go on.

It's really shocking. I assume they have some sort of risk mitigation department. How the fuck do you miss that one? They've put up said signs now. That's what's called a subsequent remedial measure. It's technically inadmissable as evidence at trial to show negligence, although that's a joke, because you can use it for witness impeachment etc.

True, but granny stroking out on Space Mountain is qualitatively different than a toddler getting gator-rolled as far as public perception is concerned.

They are very different circumstances. In the end it's gonna cost Disney a boatload of cash and a withdrawal from the good will account. But they will make adjustments, change protocol, and in few months down the road it'll be long gone from the minds of the Disney vacationing public.
