It is not good. Doesn’t look like much of a hit so I’m guessing a heart problem or aneurysm. Hope he’s okay.

My thought was torn aorta. Likely wasn't just his final hit - the final hit just finished the job. Thinking the CPR was futile and his mom was brought along in the ambulance to give final decisions.

Will be thrilled if something minor... or at least he lives. Not expecting it though.

I thought aortic arch tear at first but may also be a depolarization event. I don’t know but that sure looked like a massive loss of blood pressure.

Can a traumatic hit to your chest area stop your heart or cause your heart to get out of rhythm? Yes. What I was referring to was an R on T depolarization event. I honestly don’t know much about it but from what I understand, yes, a sufficiently forceful blow to the heart at just the right moment can lead to cardiac arrest.

I’m sure you guys watched the 2 part documentary where the heroine uses the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart technique to vanquish the leader of the deadly viper assignation squad. That kind of pressure on the heart is a killer.

Good post. If there's one thing we know for absolute certain it is that this had nothing to do with any sort of vaccine the guy may have taken. Maybe he didn't even take one. What we do know is that the vaccines were rigorously tested for 12 weeks before approval and were conclusively and definitively proven to be both safe and effective.

Does anyone think that the reaction to this event is completely over the top?
I mean after this happened it was discovered that this guy had a charity for toys and his goal was to raise $2,500. By yesterday afternoon I heard it had over $3 million in donations. I think is more now. Okay that’s nice. Cities and buildings are changing their colors to red and blue in his honor. Other football team members are wearing his jersey. People gathering outside the hospital to pray. Discussions about how unsafe it is to play football (lCTE anyone?) Then I see lots of stuff like this
What happened is a tragedy but good grief. Is it because it happened on national TV? If this had happened in a pick up game in his backyard would anyone have cared beyond a day? Children that are massacred in schools don’t get this much attention. Maybe a little blond girl stuck in a well might get more, but I think this is weird.
What happens if this guy recovers? Is he going back to football? Go on tours for being that guy that died on a football field?

No no, contracting a novel virus whose long term consequences are unknown (short term are well known) is much better than the vaccine.

We're not in disagreement. The guy could have had COVID at some point and this is a manifestation of long-term symptoms of that. Could have been a contusion. Could have been commotio cordis. Dude could have OD'd. Dude could have had a congenital condition. Dude could have taken way too much caffeine in some sort of pre-workout stimulant that he used. There are a litany of things that could have caused it and the only one we can definitively rule out is the vaccine because it has been conclusively proven to be safe and effective.

No no, contracting a novel virus whose long term consequences are unknown (short term are well known) is much better than the vaccine. Agreed. We know that if you are vaccinated you will no longer contract that novel virus. The long-term effects of the virus will take a decade or more to understand, but we already have a solid data set on the vaccine. It is safe and effective.

Let’s not forget the combination of both having the vaccine AND having Covid. What does THAT do to you, pal? Did you ever think of that?

Sadly any discussion of Hamlin's collapse has degenerated into predictable and bitter fights between partisan and vaxxed/unvaxxed camps. Any formal determination of Hamlin's muscular and cardiac status prior to this tackle and collapse, and whether there was damage caused by a COVID jab -- assuming he had one -- could have enormous ramifications well beyond sports and government policy. There are many powerful interests who would not like to have exposed that he had suffered damage due to an mRNA stick, if in fact that's what happened. We don't know what caused it. Do you think we ever will?

Did Hamlin get hit with a puck or a baseball? It more looked like a normal tackle with both players wearing pads to protect the upper chest, including the heart.
