A quick update on the kindergarten teacher:
I met her family on Easter, which went very well. I'm taking her back to Grinnell this weekend to meet mom and dad.
Obviously, things are going VERY well, and can definitely say that I have a girlfriend nowadays.
Hooray for me.
And for anyone who doesn't care, I'm sorry to invade your day with benign and useless information.

Way to go! Make sure to dine her at Paglia's. Congrats on an 'official' girlfriend. Meeting the family is always a nervous time (at least for me it was), so glad to hear that went well too.

Thanks for the update Mohawk. It sounds like you aced the Easter dinner. FYI that is a huge hurdle especially since you lovebirds haven't been together that long but I've got a good feeling about the two of you. If things go well with your folks I'm expecting an engagement announcement by the end of the year.
I've experienced 4 Kindergarten teachers and all of them were extremely kind and gentle souls and my kids still talk about them. It sounds like you've got a good thing going on. Best of luck to you both.

Ummm....no pictures will be forth coming of the kindergarten teacher. I don't think that would be a good idea what with you heathens around here! Thanks for the kind words iagirl. I've got a very good feeling about her as well. I wouldn't expect an engagement announcement in the calendar year 2008. If things proceed as they have so far, you might expect one by this time next year. We'll see how it goes.

That even freaked ME out, Germaine! Please don't rush into marriage. Anyone. It's great, but is not the "be all, end all". The only real dif between marriage and dating is: what's yours is hers and what's hers is hers. Bout it.

You know how you were on dates, nice, polite, you didn't talk raunchy or fart. Or act like a sex crazed maniac.
We'll once your married that's all out the window. I can be myself. That's probably NOT a good thing. ;D

I'm in no hurry to put a ring on her finger...or mine for that matter. Ok, enough Oprah around here...ummm...and on that note: AND And other manly things...

Have a good weekend Mo. Let's see, what fun things can do you? You must include a trip to Pagliais (that goes without saying, right). Back a few years ago, you could have gone for Cherry Cokes at Cunninghams, but since they closed, no go there. You could walk on the glass floor at Stewart Library (always thought that was cool as a kid). How about a nice walk around Arbor Lake (hand in hand of course) and be sure to "scoop the loop" while your there.
You will be giving us an update after the weekend, right?

A bit too chilly for a walk around Arbor Lake this weekend I'm afraid. She's "boycotting winter" and refuses to wear socks...so I'm fairly certain she's coming back to Missouri on Sunday with a severe case of frostbite if we spend too much time outdoors. Pagliai's is a near certainty. Mom and dad might not feel like going out on Saturday night, and if that's the case, we'll just eat at the house. I will give an update on Monday...no fears there. And bucket, I just googled "steak" and that was the most delicious looking picture on the front page. It just spoke to me. I'd like to find that ribeye and eat it for lunch today. Mmmm...

Excellent job Matt.
A little birdy told me she's really cute, in good shape, big brown eyes, gorgerous blond hair, smart and down-to-earth.
The "bringing him/her to the parent's" is THE sign of sealing the deal.
You chose wisely.
Her choosing wisely, on the other hand...is debatable. ;D

She's "boycotting winter" and refuses to wear socks... This sounds really hippie-ish to me. Break it off. Now. I'm just warning you, everything sounds great, but be careful, I really think you got a hippie gal on your hands.

That's a good thing though - hippie gals often have looser morals. In a good way.

That's a good thing though - hippie gals often have looser morals. In a good way. Very true, but they really don't age well. At all. All gals are depreciating assets, but the depreciation schedule on a hippie gal is only 5 years, whereas a normal gal has a much longer depreciation schedule.

She much prefers the warm weather so she can wear open toed shoes and sandals. If that qualifys her as a hippie, then I don't know what to tell you. Thanks seth. I tell her all the time I'm not sure if she knows what she's gotten herself into...she claims she does, so we'll see how it goes!

Although I have a disdain for wearing shoes (yet feel compelled to buy cute shoes when shopping)...socks don't bother me. If I could go barefoot all the time, I would.

I'd assume the K-teacher baseball dating game, (probably in the 3rd inning or so) is still a no-hitter?
